A Pair of Murano Hand-Blown Polychrome Art Glass Clown Figurines A pair of tall, hand-blown art glass figurines executed in the traditional Murano style. The figures are constructed from polychrome glass with various applied and pulled decorative elements. The first clown is depicted wearing a tall cobalt blue top hat and a large, ruffled collar featuring a red-to-orange gradient. It holds a red, white, and blue striped ball in its right hand and a small white sack in its left. The second clown wears a green top hat and a bright blue ruffled collar, holding a reddish-brown accordion or concertina. Both figures feature stylised faces with applied red noses and smiles, yellow zanfirico style ruffled hair, and clear glass bodies containing internal multi-coloured glass cane inclusions. Each figure is set upon large, flared black glass feet. The undersides of the bases feature snapped pontils that have been polished flat. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are present.
