A Whittaker Pixie Micro 16 Subminiature Camera Outfit and Accessories A Whittaker Pixie Micro 16 subminiature camera outfit, manufactured by Wm. R. Whittaker Co., Ltd. of Hollywood, California, dating to the late 1940s. The camera features a black plastic body with a textured, leatherette-style finish, a chrome-finished lens bezel, and a knurled metal film advance knob. The top casing is clearly inscribed Whittaker Micro 16 and Pixie. The fixed-focus lens is marked as a Microtar with aperture settings for f6.3, Bright, Dull, and Color. The reverse of the camera includes a film magazine compartment with a slider control marked Open and Shut. The outfit comprises a group of original accessories: an ivory-coloured tiered plastic display base with gold-leaf lettering and a clear plastic cover; a brown marbled plastic viewer in its original striped retail box; a black plastic proprietary 16mm film magazine; a retail box for a wrist strap; a black cylindrical plastic canister; and a large, original fold-out instruction manual. The manual provides technical specifications including a 1-inch focal length lens and a rotary between-the-lens shutter with a speed of approximately 1/50th of a second.
