A Collection of Vintage and Antique Optical Viewing Instruments A group of vintage and antique optical viewing instruments of varying types. The collection includes a mid-century View-Master Model E 3-D viewer set, manufactured by Sawyer's Europe in Brussels, Belgium. The viewer is fashioned from marbled brown plastic and is marked on the underside with the manufacturer's details and several international patent numbers. It is housed in its original red and white printed cardboard box, accompanied by an orange French-language instruction sheet and an assortment of viewing reels in blue and yellow paper sleeves, including a 1960 Passion Play packet. The collection also contains a handheld wooden Holmes-style stereoscope featuring a hooded eyepiece, a central rail with an adjustable sliding crossbar card holder, and a folding handle. Completing the group is an antique magic lantern projector constructed from black-painted and red-enamelled metal. This instrument features a curved, corrugated chimney vent, a brass-rimmed lens barrel, and a side-mounted crank handle with exposed gear mechanisms. A circular manufacturer's logo is stamped into the metal of the side-access door.
