Two Soviet FED 35mm Rangefinder Cameras, Models FED-3 and FED-4, with Leather Cases This lot comprises two Soviet-era 35mm rangefinder cameras manufactured by FED (Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky) in Kharkov, USSR. The group includes one FED-3 and one FED-4 model, both featuring metal construction with chrome-finished components and textured black body coverings. The FED-3 camera features a top plate engraved with the Cyrillic characters ФЭД 3 above the Latin FED. The rear of the top plate bears the serial number 5612169 and is marked MADE IN USSR. It is fitted with an Industar-61 (И-61) 52mm f/2.8 lens, serial number 6896411. Controls include a film advance lever, a top-mounted accessory cold shoe, and a diopter adjustment on the viewfinder eyepiece. The FED-4 camera is identified by the ФЭД-4 nameplate on the front housing. This model incorporates a built-in uncoupled selenium light meter with a honeycomb-patterned window and a corresponding exposure calculator dial on the top plate. It is fitted with an Industar-61 (И-61) 53mm f/2.8 lens, serial number 8789038. Both cameras are accompanied by their original brown leather ever-ready carrying cases featuring integrated shoulder straps and tripod screw mounts.
