A Collection of Hand Carved African Wood and Stone Decorative Items This lot comprises a selection of handcrafted decorative objects in various African regional styles. Included is a large, elongated wooden wall mask featuring a stylised face with a vertically textured beard and hair section. There are four wooden wall plaques: two solid relief plaques depicting traditional scenes of daily life and two openwork rectangular plaques showing female profiles with tiered neck rings and headdresses highlighted in a golden-yellow pigment. The wooden items also include a three-piece salad serving set and a separate smaller knife, all featuring handles carved as human figures with wire neck rings. A small wooden spoon is included, featuring a handle with a black and white striped inlay. The stone components consist of a stylised human head carved from a dark, speckled green soapstone and a small black stone elephant figurine. A small blue-painted bulbous vessel with black and white spiral and dot motifs completes the group. The items are crafted from tropical hardwoods, soapstone, metal wire, and inlaid bone or horn.
