A Pair of Southeast Asian Style Cast Stone Composite Reclining Buddha Statues A pair of Southeast Asian style reclining Buddha statues depicting the Parinirvana pose. The figures are constructed from a cast stone composite with a dark, near-black patinated surface finish. The internal composition is a lighter grey, granular stony material, visible at the site of a break. Each figure is depicted lying on its right side with the head supported by the right hand. Traditional iconographical features are present, including tightly curled hair, a prominent ushnisha, elongated earlobes, and a serene facial expression with closed eyes. The figures wear flowing monastic robes, known as sanghati, which feature decorative scroll-patterned borders. The bases are flat and unpolished, showing a textured granular surface with no maker's marks or inscriptions.
