Swansea and Its Region Edited by W. G. V. Balchin 1971 First Edition This first edition volume, titled Swansea and Its Region, was edited by W. G. V. Balchin and published by the British Association for the Advancement of Science to coincide with their 1971 meeting in Swansea. The work provides a comprehensive regional study, including chapters on geology, geography, and socio-economic history. The book is a hardcover bound in dark blue textured cloth with gilt-stamped titles on the front board and spine. It includes its original, though detached, dust jacket, which displays a black-and-white panoramic photograph of Swansea designed by George Little with photography by the Swansea College of Art.
