Rees, W. An Historical Atlas of Wales. Cardiff, 1951. First Edition; and Atlas Brycheiniog. Two Volumes. Two volumes of historical atlases relating to the topography and history of Wales. The first volume is An Historical Atlas of Wales: From Early to Modern Times by William Rees, Professor of the History of Wales at University College, Cardiff. This is a stated first edition, published in Cardiff in 1951. The work is bound in tan paper-covered boards with an orange cloth spine and contains numerous black and white cartographic plates and diagrams. The maps were reproduced and printed by Howell Photo Litho Co. Ltd., and the text was printed and bound by William Lewis (Printers) Ltd., Cardiff. The second volume, Atlas Brycheiniog, is a Welsh-language topographical and historical atlas published by J. D. Lewis and Sons at Gwasg Gomer, Llandysul. The volume is bound in green cloth with black lettering and a central crest to the front board featuring the motto Undeb Hedd Llywyddiant. The interior includes illustrated maps, historical essays, and photographic plates covering periods from early civilisations to the gentry houses of the 18th century.
