London Missionary Society. A Collection of Six Missionary Works regarding Africa, China, and Madagascar, 1900-1911. A collection of six pictorial cloth-bound volumes published by the London Missionary Society (Cymdeithas Genhadol Llundain) between 1900 and 1911. The set comprises five volumes translated into the Welsh language and one original English language volume. The works include Hwyr a Boreu yn Affrica Dywyll by Harry Johnson (translated 1903), Aur o'r Graig by W. A. Elliott (1911), Ynys y Merthyron by Annie Sharman (1908), Fy Mordaith yn y John Williams by R. Wardlaw Thompson (1900), The Sons of Han by Bernard Upward (1908), and Croes a Choron by Mrs. Bryson (1905). Each volume is in octavo format, bound in publisher's pictorial cloth of various colours including red, blue, yellow, and tan, featuring decorative front boards and spines. The texts are heavily illustrated with between 64 and 74 plates and figures per volume. Each book contains a printed London Missionary Society presentation plate on the front endpaper, documenting contributions to the New Year Offering for Ships. Inscribed recipients include Miss Lizzie O. Jones, Griffith Harris, Eliza A. Jones, David Lewis, Miss Morgan, and Idwal Williams, with various Welsh Sunday School associations noted including Cwmcil, Ysguborwen, Ebenezer Abertawe, and Carmel.
