Two Pieces of Mid-Century Studio Pottery comprising a West German Vase and a Celtic Pottery Dish A lot consisting of two pieces of mid-century glazed earthenware. The first is a West German bottle vase featuring a bulbous body and a long, tapering neck with a flared rim. It is decorated with a vibrant orange glossy glaze and horizontal bands of textured black glaze. The interior of the neck is finished in a mottled dark blue and brown glaze. The base is marked Foreign Made in W-Germany with incised model numbers 1005 / 22 and a stamped B. The second piece is a small crescent-shaped dish from Celtic Pottery, Portmadoc, Wales. It is hand-decorated with a stylised radial sunburst pattern in apple green and dark brown. The reverse is white-glazed and bears a grey printed factory mark with a sailing ship logo and the words Portmadoc . Wales. Height 22 cm.
