A Pair of Chinese Export Famille Rose Celadon Ground Miniature Plates Tongzhi Mark and Period A pair of Chinese export porcelain miniature plates or saucers featuring a pale celadon-green glaze. The interiors are decorated in overglaze famille rose enamels with various auspicious motifs, including butterflies, floral sprays of peony and lotus, and elements from the Hundred Antiques theme such as tied scrolls, a basket of flowers, and a ruyi scepter. The rims are finished with a thin gilt line. Each plate features a four-character square seal mark in blue underglaze to the base reading Tongzhi Nian Zhi (同治年製), indicating production during the reign of the Tongzhi Emperor (1862-1874) of the Qing Dynasty. The glaze quality and style of decoration are consistent with this period. Diameter: 4.5 cm.
