A Collection of Chinese, Japanese, and British Chinoiserie Ceramics A collection of nine ceramic pieces featuring various styles of East Asian and British Chinoiserie decoration. The group includes a mid-19th-century British porcelain cream pitcher by William and Samuel Edge of Burslem, transfer-printed in the Canton pattern with polychrome overglaze highlights and an ornate handle. The base is marked with a scrolled cartouche for Canton W & S E. The set also features a Chinese crackle-glazed porcelain ovoid jar decorated in polychrome enamels with a scene of warriors on horseback, featuring a textured brown glaze to the shoulder and base; the underside bears an incised four-character apocryphal Chenghua mark. Also included is a Japanese Kutani porcelain tea bowl with iron-red floral decoration and a red square mark, and a blue and white saucer marked for Ryutani. Further items consist of a millefleur-style porcelain bowl with a red Hong Kong processing stamp, three blue and white saucers including one with a scalloped edge and another in the Willow pattern style, a small blue and white floral bowl, and a decorative crackle-glazed egg with leafy sprigs.
