The foreground is dominated by a lush cottage garden featuring tall yellow sunflowers, hollyhocks, and mixed shrubbery. To the left, a stone wall and gate lead into the distance under a pale blue sky. The work is executed in watercolour with opaque gouache highlights on paper. It is housed within a broad gold-painted mount and an ornate gilded gesso frame with scrolling foliate and floral corner ornamentation.
