A. D. Forbes (Late 20th Century), Pink Poppies, Contemporary Watercolour, 1991 This contemporary pure watercolour on paper depicts a cluster of pink poppies and seed heads rendered in a soft, impressionistic style. The artist has utilised transparent washes to build form and depth, with delicate brushwork defining the petal edges. The work is signed in the lower right A. D. Forbes and dated 91. It is presented in a double mat featuring an off-white outer border and a thin sage-green inner border, housed in a wooden frame with a distressed, white-washed finish.
