A Swinnertons Staffordshire Earthenware Dinner and Service Set A large part dinner and service set manufactured by Swinnertons of Staffordshire, England. The collection is crafted from white earthenware, characteristic of semi-porcelain or ironstone. Each piece is decorated with a transfer-printed border featuring stylized blue scroll and fleur-de-lis motifs set within tan-coloured outlines, connected by a repeating geometric diamond-patterned band. The items are finished with a gold-gilt line to the rims. The set comprises approximately 33 pieces including fourteen large dinner plates, six medium side plates, six small tea or bread plates, one large lidded vegetable tureen, one large open serving bowl, two large shallow soup or pasta bowls, and two sauce or gravy boats. The underside of several pieces bears a black transfer-printed backstamp consisting of the word SWINNERTONS in an arch over a central graphic symbol of a traditional oil lamp, with the words STAFFORDSHIRE and MADE IN ENGLAND below.
