A Group of J&G Meakin Sol Earthenware Tableware in The Grantham Pattern A group of J&G Meakin glazed earthenware tableware from the Sol range, decorated in The Grantham pattern. The collection comprises a lidded tureen with twin handles and a rectangular finial, an open vegetable bowl, a sauce boat with an integral foot, two oval serving platters with moulded handles, and six dinner plates. The pattern features colourful floral transfer-printed sprays in shades of orange, yellow, red, and blue with green foliage. The rims are finished with a continuous border of small yellow flowers and grey scrolling leaves, accented by a thin gilded line to the edge. Base markings include a black transfer-printed sun motif with the text REGD SOL 391413, J&G MEAKIN, ENGLAND. Several pieces feature a blue transfer-printed mark for THE GRANTHAM REGD NO 740936. Small hand-painted decorator marks in green and orange are also present.
