Thomas Hughes and Son Konny Kraft Paradise Shape Three Piece Earthenware Serving Set A three piece hand painted earthenware serving set produced by Thomas Hughes and Son Ltd of Longport, England, dating to the circa 1930s. The set consists of two oval serving platters and a footed, lidded vegetable tureen. The pieces are manufactured in the Paradise Shape, characterised by scalloped, moulded edges and scrolling handles to the tureen. The decoration is from the Konny Kraft range, featuring hand painted stylised trees and floral sprays in a palette of orange, green, cobalt blue, and red, with a blue line finish to the rims. The bases display a green printed backstamp with a unicorn above the text Paradise Shape, Hughes Longport, and Made in England. A black printed mark identifies the range as Genuine Konny Kraft Hand Painted. Hand painted pattern numbers 7017 and a letter V are visible, and one platter is impressed with the number 31.
