A Set of Six Laura Stoddart for The Middleton Collection Gardening Themed Porcelain Side Plates A set of six white porcelain side plates from the Middleton collection, featuring illustrations by artist Laura Stoddart. Each plate is decorated with a central transfer-printed design depicting a whimsical, stylised figure engaged in gardening activities. The series includes figures using a watering can, a rake, garden shears, a pitchfork, a spade with a bucket, and a planting tray. The rim of each plate features a repeating border consisting of the word Middleton in a serif typeface, separated by small dots. The reverse of each plate bears a black printed backstamp which reads: Exclusively for the Middleton collection by Laura Stoddart © 2003. Below this is a logo featuring a stylised dragon and a fern leaf, followed by the text: Gardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol Cymru, National Botanic Garden of Wales. One plate retains an original retail adhesive label marked 160194 Rake Plate £10.50. These plates were produced as a themed series for the National Botanic Garden of Wales, located at Middleton Hall.
