A Collection of Limoges and Continental Porcelain Decorative Cabinet Plates A collection of decorative cabinet porcelain plates and saucers, primarily of French origin. The grouping includes a large Limoges cabinet plate featuring a central transfer-printed vignette from the Cries of London series titled Fine Black Cherries, depicting an eighteenth-century street scene. This plate is finished with a wide deep pink border and elaborate foliate gilding. It bears the marks Giraud, Limoges, France and Porcelaine Artistique, Limoges-France. A pair of cobalt blue porcelain saucers feature central romantic garden scenes in the style of Fragonard, with scalloped edges and heavy feathered gold gilding; these are marked Limoges - France with an intertwined JV monogram. The collection also includes several white and pink plates decorated with transfer-printed romantic vignettes. One piece is marked Limoges, France, D 4, and another bears the mark Foreign Adler. All pieces feature decorative gold-gilt borders and transfer-printed central scenes.
