A FINE GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY MUSICAL EIGHT-DAY LONGCASE CLOCK the 12" arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring enclosing a matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial, name plaque and date aperture, below a rolling moon with the tidal dial, six tune selector and two subsidiary dials to the corners for strike silent and chime silent. Fronting a substantial three-train weight-driven eight-day movement with five pillars, anchor escapement, rack strike and musical barrel playing six tunes on 14 bells and 25 hammers. The pagoda topped case with break arch trunk door and canted corners; raised on a panelled base with double plinth. (252cm high )
