A GEORGE III QUARTER CHIMING FIGURED MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, the quality case having blind fret decoration, reeded columns and brick moulded base enclosing a 13 1/4" arched brass dial with gilt spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a faceted gilt brass ring and engraved silvered centre with concentric calendar, centre seconds and the Cheshire county flag, the arch with silvered plaque inscribed "HE APPOINTED THE MOON FOR THE SEASONS" above a rolling moon aperture fronting an eight day three train eight day movement with anchor escapement chiming the quarters on eight bells and the hours on a larger bell.
