A MID 19TH CENTURY FRENCH ENGRAVED GILT BRASS REPEATING CARRIAGE CLOCK having a one-piece case with bevelled glass panels, swing handle, shuttered back door and shaped plinth base, enclosing an engraved masked enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and subsidiary alarm dial, fronting an eight-day spring-driven movement with alarm and original chaff-cutter escapement striking and repeating on a bell.
