MERCOURI MELINA: (1920-1994) Greek actress, an Academy Award nominee. A good vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph of Mercouri in a head and shoulders pose in costume as Stella from the 1955 Greek film of the same name, a retelling of Carmen. Signed in bold blue fountain pen ink with her name alone to a clear area of the image. Mercouri's performance in this movie marked her film debut, for which she received a Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award nomination. Some light surface and corner creasing and a couple of small pinholes to the upper white border. About VG
