MERKEL UNA: (1903-1986) American actress, an Academy Award nominee. Vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of Merkel in a head and shoulders pose in costume as Mrs. Winemiller from the American drama film Summer and Smoke (1961). Signed in turquoise fountain pen ink to a clear area of the background, 'To Jack - with so many good wishes - Una Merkel'. It was for her performance in this film that Merkel received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination.
