[THIRD MAN THE]: KORDA ALEXANDER (1893-1956) Hungarian-born British film director. T.L.S., Alex, one page, 4to, Piccadilly, London, 31st July 1951, to Charles Benedek, on the printed stationery of London Film Productions Ltd. Korda states that he is sorry to hear of his correspondent's troubles and adds that he has written to his Paris office 'asking them to pay the cost of your storage in France', further explaining that he is about to leave for a holiday, otherwise would have written more, although remarking 'Just one thing. I imagine that you will be better off in a place to which you have been used for a number of years than to go to Norway. I will write you as soon as I am back here, and I hope this winter to come to Spain and to see you there'. Scarce. VG
