SARGENT JOHN SINGER: (1856-1925) American Painter. A.L.S., John S. Sargent, on two sides of a correspondence card, Tite Street, Chelsea, n.d. ('Saturday'), to Mr. Kelly. Sargent returns the Quintero plays lent from his correspondent, commenting that they are dainty and remarking 'when I next go to Spain I must watch the play bills'. Together with a second A.L.S., John S. Sargent, on two sides of a correspondence card, Tite Street, Chelsea, n.d. ('Sunday', annotated 1914 in pencil in another hand), to Mr. Kelly. Sargent enquires if he and Mrs. Hunter may come to see him on Tuesday afternoon, explaining that 'We both want to see you and also to see
..pictures that Maurice Baring has told me you brought back with you'. Some very light, extremely minor age wear, VG, 2 Serafin Alvarez Quintero (1871-1938) and Joaquin Alvarez Quintero (1873-1944) Spanish dramatists who wrote almost 200 plays and gained fame as the Golden Boys of the Madrid theatre.
