FOCKE HENRICH: (1890-1979) German aviation pioneer, the inventor of the Fw 61, the first successful German helicopter. Signed colour 3.5 x 5 photograph of Focke standing outdoors in a half length pose wearing a hat upon his head and with an overcoat on one arm. Signed in black ink with his name alone to a light area of the image. With a further A.N.S. to the verso, in German (untranslated). Accompanied by a carbon typed copy of a letter from the aviation philatelist Hans Rossbach to Focke, dated 14th March 1973, in German (untranslated), seemingly 0relating to the signing of some Royal Air Force commemorative covers.
