ELEONORE MAGADALENE OF NEUBURG: (1655-1720) Holy Roman Empress & Archduchess consort of Austria 1676-1705, German Queen 1676-90, Queen consort of Hungary 1676-87, Queen consort of Bohemia 1676-1705 and Princess consort of Transylvania 1691-1705, the third and last wife of Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor. L.S., Eleonore, two pages, folio, Vienna, 25th October 1685, to Vincenzo Grimani, in Latin (untranslated). With integral address leaf bearing the remnants of a blind embossed paper seal. Some age wear, light staining, tears and small areas of paper loss to the edges, only slightly affecting the text and signature. Professionally silked. About G Vincenzo Grimani (1652/65-1710) Italian cardinal, diplomat & opera librettist, best remembered for having supplied the libretto for George Frideric Handel's early operatic success Agrippina (1709).
