BRITISH CINEMA: An excellent selection of vintage signed 8 x 10 photographs and slightly smaller (3) by various British film stars comprising Stanley Baker (standing in a three-quarter length pose in costume as Inspector Harry Martineau in a scene from the British crime thriller film Hell Is a City, 1960), Kenneth More (standing outdoors in a half-length pose in costume as Jonathan Tibbs from the British-American Western comedy film The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw, 1958), Anthony Quayle (standing outdoors in a three-quarter length pose in costume as Jack Loder in a scene from the romance thriller film The Tamarind Seed, 1974), Donald Pleasence (in a half-length pose in costume as Oracle Jones alongside other actors in a scene from the American Western mockumentary spoof film The Hallelujah Trail, 1965), Richard Todd (in a half-length profile pose in costume as Le Comte Axel de Fersen opposite actress Michele Morgan, in costume as Marie Antoinette, in a scene from the historical drama film Marie Antoinette Queen of France, 1956; also signed by Morgan), Sam Wanamaker (in a head and shoulders pose in costume as Ray MacDonald from the film From Hell to Victory, 1979), Susannah York (in a half-length pose in costume as Cecily Koertner, opposite actor Larry Parks, in costume as Dr. Josef Breuer, in a scene from the biographical drama film Freud: The Secret Passion, 1962) and Dan O'Herlihy (standing outdoors in a half-length pose in costume as Steven Grimes in a scene from the Western film 100 Rifles, 1969). Provenance: The present photographs originate from the collection of Pierre Goulliard, a French gentleman who, for over 50 years, dedicated himself to obtaining in person autographs of British, American and European movie stars, always obtaining the signatures in fountain pen ink.
