VAN DONGEN KEES: (1877-1968) Dutch Painter, a member of the Fauves. A fine A.L.S., Van Dongen, one page, 8vo, Paris, 14th September 1934, on the printed stationery of the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris, to Monsieur Bourgignon, Curator of the Malmaison Museum, in French. Van Dogen refers to one of his paintings and requests an appointment to negotiate conditions, stating in part `Madame Paul Clémenceau m´a fait part du désir d´amis du Président Painlevé don't j´ai peint le portrait, d´acquérir ce portrait pour les musées de Malmaison´ (“Madame Paul Clemenceau informed me of the desire of friends of President Painlevé, whose portrait I painted, to acquire this portrait for the museums of Malmaison”) Very small overall age wear with small creases to the lower corners, otherwise G to VG
