RICKENBACKER EDDIE: (1890-1973) American fighter ace of World War I. T.L.S., Eddie Rickenbacker, one page, 8vo, Rockefeller Plaza, New York, 11th July 1966, to Miss Isabel Erickson. Rickenbacker writes in response to his correspondent's request for a reference for Todd G. Cole who was negotiating for an apartment and states, in part, 'If this was not a routine affair I am sure you would recognize that Mr. Todd G. Cole is Senior Vice President Finance and Administration of Eastern Air Lines, Inc., a three hundred million dollar plus corporation, which would be ample evidence to me as a businessman that he was the type with whom you would want to negotiate. I can assure you that Mr. Cole is a representative businessman, has a fine family and is a forthright, worthy citizen. You could do no better'. To the integral leaf appears Erickson's partially printed form letter to Rickenbacker on behalf of Douglas Gibbons - Hollyday & Ives Inc. dated 8th July 1966. VG
