WHITTLE FRANK: (1907-1996) English Air Commodore and engineer, credited with inventing the turbojet engine. Selection of four signed magazine photographs of various sizes (the largest 8 x 10.5), some colour and two multiple signed, by Whittle, the images depicting him in various poses, as well as depicting the Gloster E.28/39 in flight etc., one of the pages with printed text on the 50th anniversary of the maiden flight of the first British jet aircraft. Together with six individually signed magazine photographs of various sizes, and an A.N.S. on a compliments slip by Hugh Wilson (1908-1990) British Group Captain, the Royal Air Force's main chief test pilot for captured enemy aircraft in World War II, and the first man to exceed 600 mph flying a Gloster Meteor jet fighter, November 1945. Also including two magazine photographs of different sizes individually signed by Edward Donaldson (1912-1992) British Air Commodore, a flying ace of World War II who set a new official world air speed record of 615.78 mph in a Gloster Meteor, September 1946.
