MANUEL LOUIS PIERRE: (1751-1793) French Writer and political figure during the Revolution. Member of the Convention, he was guillotined for calling `Cannibals´ those who voted in favour of executing King Louis XVI. An excellent A.L.S., Manuel, one page, 4to, Paris, Monday, 1792, on the Commune Prosecutor printed stationery, to the tax minister, in French. Manuel states in part `..what you tell me about the Convention is what I think about every single day. It is not working..Everywhere passions are suffocating principles. Nothing is being done to establish public moral. Because how can we sow virtues with such bad examples?..´ A letter of interesting content.
