SENNA AYRTON: (1960-1994) Brazilian motor racing driver, Formula One World Champion 1988, 1990 & 1991. A printed 4to official souvenir programme for the Formula One World Championship German Grand Prix held at the Hockenheimring, Hockenheim, on 24th July 1988, signed by Senna in blue ink with his name alone to an inside page across his German text printed biography and alongside a small colour head and shoulders portrait, the programme also signed by fifteen other motor racing drivers who participated in the Grand Prix including Alain Prost, Jonathan Palmer, Nigel Mansell, Riccardo Patrese, Bernd Schneider, Mauricio Gugelmin, Derek Warwick, Eddie Cheever, Nicola Larini, Pierluigi Martini, Gerhard Berger, Philippe Alliot, Alex Caffi etc. All have also signed across their printed biographies and alongside their colour portraits. Some light creasing and age wear and minor damp staining (the race was held under wet conditions following a weekend of thunderstorms). G

Senna, driving a McLaren-Honda, won the 1988 German Grand Prix from pole position and the victory, his fifth of the season, moved him to within three points of Prost at the top of the Drivers' Championship. The Brazilian would go on to win a further three Grand Prix that season and secure his first of three World Championships.
