JOPLIN JANIS: (1943-1970) American singer and songwriter. A vintage printed folio (approx. 30 x 30 cm) souvenir programme for the Texas International Pop Festival held at Lewsville, Texas, from 30th August - 1st September 1969, signed and inscribed ('To George, Love, Janis Joplin xxo') by Joplin in bold black ink to a clear area of an inside page featuring her image and brief printed biography, further adding a small sketch of a love heart in her hand beneath her signature. The Texas International Pop Festival took place two weeks after Woodstock and Joplin performed on the first day, Saturday, 30th August 1969. Other artists and bands that appeared at the festival included B. B. King, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Winter and Sly and the Family Stone.
