AIRSHIPS: Small selection of three signed photographs comprsing a postcard photograph depicting a Zeppelin airship in flames on 17th October 1913, signed to the verso by four members of the crew of the Hindenburg airship who survived the disaster that occurred at Lakehurst, New Jersey, on 6th May 1937 comprising Eugen Bentele (1909-2003; chief mechanic), Theodor Ritter (1913-2009; trainee engine mechanic), Fred Grozinger (1916-2002; cook) & Walter Muller (1908-2003; Flight officer) and also signed by John Lust, a crew member of the USS Akron, who fatefully avoided the flight of the airship that resulted in disaster on 3rd April 1933; a signed 5 x 7 photograph by Tom Applegate, a civilian ground crew member at the time of the Hindenburg disaster, the image depicting the airship in flames, signed in black ink to the lower white border; and a signed 10 x 8 photograph by Margherita Thielke, an eyewitness to the Hindenburg disaster, the image depicting the airship crashing to the ground in flames, signed in black ink to the image by Thielke, further adding a few words and the date of the disaster in her hand beneath her signature.
