ROMANOV GRAND DUCHESS TATIANA NIKOLAEVNA : (1897-1918) Russian Grand Duchess, the second daughter of Tsar Nicholas II. An extremely rare A.L.S., with her initial T, one page, small 8vo (folding notelet stationery with a slightly adhesive perforated border), Tobolsk, 11th January 1918, to Countess Zenaide Sergeevna Tolstoy, in Cyrillic. The Grand Duchess asks her friend to forward some letters (no longer present) to a mutual friend, Rita, adding 'I am glad that she has been with you for so long', and further explaining that she will write again later before concluding by sending a warm embrace and kisses. Autographs of Grand Duchess Tatiana are extremely rare in any form as a result of her murder at the hands of Communist revolutionaries in July 1918 at the young age of 21.
