BRUCE NIGEL: (1895-1953) British character actor, remembered for his portrayal of Dr. Watson opposite Basil Rathbone in a series of Sherlock Holmes films. A good vintage signed and inscribed sepia 8 x 10 photograph of Bruce in a head and shoulders pose smoking a pipe. Signed in bold, dark fountain pen ink to a light area of the background and dated 1936 in his hand. The four corners of the borders are very slightly neatly clipped, and do not affect the image, and with some slight traces of former mounting to the corners of the verso. About VG
