DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Pere (1802-1870) French Writer whose works include The Three Musketeers. A.L.S., `Alex Dumas´, one page, 12mo, n.p., 23rd January n.y., [1865], to Arles, in French. Dumas states `Our Thursday dinner is delayed till Friday because of the premiere performance of Joseph Poniatowski..´ VG £120-200 François Barthélemy Arles-Dufour (1797-1872), Humanist and Business-man. Joseph Poniatowski (1814-1873) Polish Composer and Tenor. Nephew of Prince Josef Poniatowski, Marshal of the French Empire. He composed the music for L´Aventurier, a play by Vernoy de St. Georges which was premiered at the Opera Comique in 1865 and which Dumas refers to.
