A Pair of Graduated Two Tone Glazed Stoneware Pitchers - This lot comprises two wheel-thrown stoneware pitchers of graduated sizes. Each vessel features a tapered, cylindrical body characterized by horizontal ribbing and a flared rim. The pitchers are designed with pointed spouts and large D-shaped handles. The matching recessed lids are topped with cylindrical knob handles. The pieces are finished in a two-tone matte glaze, with the lower portions of the bodies and the tops of the lid knobs in a mottled medium-blue, while the upper sections and primary lid surfaces are a contrasting cream color. A thin brown wash highlights the rims, handles, and lid bases. The undersides of both pieces are finished with a solid blue glaze (photo 3). No maker's marks, signatures, or stamps are visible on the base or body of either item.
