Japanese Antique Fine Lacquer Sheath Inro, Two-Case
Title: Fine lacquer two-case sheath inro
Date: mid 19th century
Size: (H) 7.3 x (W) 5.3 x (D) 2.1 cm
Condition: Light wear on the edges and inside of the cases. Restoration on one of the channel cords (top). A small hole inside the sheath.
Openwork sheath in black lacquer with daisies and grasses in togidashi maki-e, the inside in nashiji. The cases are worked in gold higaki wooden pattern over black lacquer, the inside in red lacquer with gold edges.
