Descendant of the Tzaddikim of Ropshitz, Zidichov, Premishlan, Lizhensk, Kozhnitz and Belz. He was appointed Rebbe in 1927 after the passing of his father-in-law, Rebbe Avraham of Kerestir. He was known as a Tzaddik and wonder-worker. The many salvations he achieved and his blessings that were fulfilled are recounted in the book Batei Avot (Part III – "Beit Yosef", Jerusalem 1965), written by his disciple R.
