Letter from Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevich, Rosh Yeshivat Mir. Jerusalem, Tevet 1971. In this letter Rabbi Chaim announces the engagement of his son Rabbi Avraham to the daughter of Rabbi Y.L. Nekritz. The engagement took place in the United States and the wedding in Jerusalem. In this letter which was sent to his friend Rabbi D.S. in the United States, he writes: "It is difficult for me not to take part in the celebration but I am glad that my friend will take part in our happy event".
The Ga'on Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevich (1902-1979), grandson of the "Grandfather" of Novardok and son-in-law of Rabbi Finkel, served for many years as head of the Mir Yeshivah in Jerusalem. One of the leading rabbis well known for his diligence and his brilliant discourses that encompassed many Talmudic topics. Amongst his books: Sichot Mussar, Sha'arei Chaim. The book "Sefer Ha-Zikaron for Rabbi Shmuelevich" was written in his memory.
