Seder Sefirat Ha-Omer Calendar – Frankfurt am Main, 1908
A printed colored certificate, a letter in a Torah scroll. "The committee for the writing of a Torah scroll in memory of the Chafetz Chaim… by the Vilna Va'ad HaYeshivot". Vilna, 1933. A lithographic print of Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky's signature.
"And it should be a sign… in the city… that he has a part in the general Torah scroll written in memory of Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaCohen, The Chafetz Chaim".
This collection of donations for Va'ad HaYeshivot was the initiative of Rabbi Chaim Ozer who thereby initiated a fund for saving the yeshivot. Two of the greatest heads of the Yeshivot in Lithuania, Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman and Rabbi Yerucham Levovitz, devoted themselves to this mission of selling letters all over Poland and Europe. Rabbi Chaim Ozer turned to Rabbi David Sason in London and asked him also to establish a committee in London to sell letters in the Torah scroll. (See attached material).
A complete certificate with the stub (not filled in), 21X21 cm. Fair condition, wear in paper folds and margins
