SCIENCE - DARBOUX Gaston (1842 - 1917) - Autograph letter signed - Autograph letter signed, dated “Le 29 Décembre 1908” by the French mathematician. He made several important contributions to geometry and mathematical analysis (see, for example, linear PDEs). He was a biographer of Henri Poincaré and he edited the Selected Works of Joseph Fourier. Addressed to a gentleman: “…je pourrais me tenire, en ce qui concerne M. Burpain, à ce que je vous ai écrit, car il ne trouverait aucun tribunal, pour lui de… l’insertion integrale, mais pour en finir j’accepte ses propositions et j’espère que M.
