AUCTION_INFORMATION_PAYMENT


1. Each Purchaser must provide their name, address, and, if required, proof of identity to the Auctioneers during a sale. Additionally, the Auctioneers may request the Purchaser to make a specified deposit.


2. The Purchaser is responsible for paying the Hammer Price along with a premium of 25% (plus 20% VAT on the premium only for UK-delivered items). Minimum premium £10. By placing a bid, the Purchaser acknowledges their awareness of this requirement and agrees to the Auctioneers receiving the mentioned commission.


3. Payment for lots must be made in cash (limits apply), banker's draft, bank card or credit card. We are unable to accept PayPal payments.


4. Overseas clients are requested to settle their accounts through bank transfers (details available upon request) or payment with a Bank Card or Credit Card. If payment is made using personal accounts in foreign currency, the client must ask us for the correct amount of foreign currency to send. We can accept payments only in GBP, USD, and EUR. The Auctioneer reserves the right to recover any shortfall resulting from bank charges or currency fluctuations from the Purchasers.


5. Payments for auction purchases can be made. If the buyer wants to send the funds directly to the Auctioneer crypto wallet, they can inform the Auctioneers, and all the necessary information will be supplied.


7. The Auctioneers will not release any lots until they receive full payment from the Purchaser.

The son of a barber and a housewife, he enrolled at the G.B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna, which he abandoned after two years and continued his studies as a self-taught, listening to and assimilating vocal technique on records by Beniamino Gigli and Carlo Tagliabue. He made his debut in 1953 at the Teatro Nuovo di Imola in Giacomo Puccini's La bohème in the role of Schaunard. He alternated his appearances as a supporting actor with a long list of competitions, eight of which he won, including: Busseto 1961, Fano 1961, Lonigo 1962, Munich (Germany) 1962, Toulouse (France) 1964, Parma 1965, Barcelona (Spain) 1966. On 23 December 1967 for the first performance, Bordoni was called upon to perform the role of Rigoletto in place of the sick protagonist and began his career as a mainly Verdian interpreter. From 1967 onwards, he sang in the theatres of the following cities in Italy: Turin, Genoa, Parma, Milan, Venice, Verona, Bologna, Macerata, Rome, Naples, Catania, Palermo, Cagliari, in Spain: Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Bilbao, La Coruña, Tenerife, in France: Paris, Marseille, Nice, Bordeaux, Aix en Provence, in England: London, in Germany: Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main, in Austria: Vienna, Graz, in Switzerland: Lausanne, Basel, Zurich, Geneva, St. Gallen, Lugano:, in U.S.A.: San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, in Chile: Santiago del Chile, in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, to name the most important ones. In the aforementioned theatres, he works alongside his contemporaries, including: Del Monaco, Di Stefano, Corelli, Caballé' Carreras, Marton, Ricciarelli, Domingo, Pavarotti, Kraus, Devia, Baltsa, Siepi, Tucker, Christoff, Serra, Aragall, Vickers, Cossotto, Kabaivanska, Zeani, Deutekom, Arroyo, Bergonzi, Giaiotti, Gedda, Giacomini, Lima, Bonisolli, Bumbry, Obratsova, Molnar, Martinucci, Dimitrova, Lavirgen, Neblett, Jones, Scotto, Freni, McCracken, Codrubas, Olivero, Merighi, Zampieri, Casolla, Cruz-Romo, Slatinaru and is conducted by the most famous Maestros: Freccia, Molinari Pradelli, Abbado R.., Gavazzeni, De Fabritiis, Santi, Patanè, Queler, Sinopoli, Masini, Gandolfi, Guadagno, Franci, Mackerras, Neschling, Erede, Gelmetti. He closed his career in Maribor at the Slovene National Theatre in 2000, singing Rodrigo in Giuseppe Verdi's Don Carlo after 47 years with over 400 performances of Rigoletto performed in the title role. La Gioconda (Barnaba) with Josè Carreras - Gran Teatro di Liceu, Barcelona 1984 In 2012, he was celebrated by the Teatro Comunale di Bologna for his 80th birthday with a photo exhibition set up in the Rotonda Gluck that traced his long baritone career through stage pictures. In addition, a biographical DVD (interview by Prof. Marco Beghelli, professor at the University of Bologna - Department of Visual, Performing and Multimedia Arts) capturing the most salient moments of his artistic career was filmed for the occasion. In 2016, the musician and writer Bruno Baudissone published with the publishing house Il mio libro a collection of interviews dedicated to the world of opera entitled Non ti scordar di me, which also recounts Franco Bordoni's career.   • Lots are released only after cleared payment.

3. Shipping, Export & Insurance

  • A tailored, insured shipping quote will be added to your invoice.

  • UK delivery costs are subject to 20 % VAT.

  • Export Licence: If required, L’Autographe will apply on your behalf for a £20 administration fee per invoice.

  • Buyers are responsible for any customs or import duties in their own country.

5. Risk, Authenticity & Returns

  • All lots sold as‑is with a guarantee of authenticity; claims for forgery must be submitted within 21 days with expert evidence.

  • Refunds (hammer + premium only) are at L’Autographe’s discretion.

6. Storage & Uncollected Lots

  • Uncollected items may be moved to storage at the buyer’s cost.

  • If storage charges reach 50 % of the hammer price or three months elapse, items may be resold to recover costs.

7. Registration (KYC)

  • New or inactive bidders must register 72 hours before the sale and provide valid ID (plus company documents where applicable).
