AUCTION_INFORMATION_PAYMENT
1. Each Purchaser must provide their name, address, and, if required, proof of identity to the Auctioneers during a sale. Additionally, the Auctioneers may request the Purchaser to make a specified deposit.
2. The Purchaser is responsible for paying the Hammer Price along with a premium of 25% (plus 20% VAT on the premium only for UK-delivered items). Minimum premium £10. By placing a bid, the Purchaser acknowledges their awareness of this requirement and agrees to the Auctioneers receiving the mentioned commission.
3. Payment for lots must be made in cash (limits apply), banker's draft, bank card or credit card. We are unable to accept PayPal payments.
4. Overseas clients are requested to settle their accounts through bank transfers (details available upon request) or payment with a Bank Card or Credit Card. If payment is made using personal accounts in foreign currency, the client must ask us for the correct amount of foreign currency to send. We can accept payments only in GBP, USD, and EUR. The Auctioneer reserves the right to recover any shortfall resulting from bank charges or currency fluctuations from the Purchasers.
5. Payments for auction purchases can be made. If the buyer wants to send the funds directly to the Auctioneer crypto wallet, they can inform the Auctioneers, and all the necessary information will be supplied.
7. The Auctioneers will not release any lots until they receive full payment from the Purchaser.

ANSERMET Ernest
(Vevey, 11.11.1883 - Geneva, 20.02.1969). A graduate in physical sciences and mathematics from the University of Lausanne, he taught mathematics at the gymnasium. He then studied music in Paris, Munich and Berlin. He discovered the scores of Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Ravel, Debussy, Hindemith, Bartok, Honegger and Frank Martin. He founded the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and premiered L'histoire du soldat by Ramuz and Stravinsky. A committed artist, he had a profound influence on the cultural life of French-speaking Switzerland.

He politely refuses to take on the distribution of Joseph Lauber and Paul Langer's "Drame de Saül de Tarse" and suggests other people "because it would correspond to their means and also to the taste of their public, which is less sophisticated than that of Geneva".
APPIA Edmond
(Turin, 07.05.1894 - Geneva, 12.02.1961). He made a career as solo violinist, then taught at the Lausanne Conservatoire (1928-1943) and conducted the Geneva radio orchestra after 1938.

BAUD-BOVY Samuel
(Céligny, 27.11.1906 - Geneva, 02.11.1986). Studied music in Geneva, Paris and Vienna. A musicologist, he founded the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and directed the Geneva Conservatory as well as the Société de Chant Sacré.

DENZLER Robert
(Zurich, 19.03.1892, - Zurich, 25.08.1972). Studied at the Zurich Conservatory, then in Cologne. At the age of 20 he conducted the Lucerne city orchestra and three years later he was Kapellmeister at the Zurich city theatre. In 1927, he went to Berlin and joined the Nazi party, hoping to keep his post in Germany. He returned to Zurich in 1934.

DESARZENS Victor
(Château d'Oex, 27.10.1908 - Aran, Vilette, 13.02.1986). Studied violin at the Lausanne Conservatoire. Dedicated to his art with all his heart, he founded the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne in 1942, building it into an ensemble of international renown. He revitalised the repertoire of French-speaking Switzerland and introduced audiences to Monteverdi and his friend Frank Martin.

(Le Locle, 16.04.1924 - Lausanne, 24.06.1983). Conservatoire in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Berne and Paris. From 1953, professor at the Lausanne Conservatoire.

HAUG Hans
(Basel, 27.07.1900 - Lausanne, 15.09.1967). Trained as a pianist in Basel, Zurich and Munich, he worked intensively as a pianist, conductor and teacher at the Lausanne Conservatoire. By 1951, he had composed almost 200 works in all genres.

JORDAN Armin
(Lucerne, 09.04.1932 - Zurich, 20.09.2006). He grew up in Fribourg. Before studying music, he studied literature, law and theology. He conducted the orchestras of Biel and Solothurn before joining the Zurich Opera. He also conducted the orchestras of St Gallen and Basel, then the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra from 1985 to 1997. Like Ansermet, he turned down prestigious posts in major European cities to stay with the OSR, with which he has recorded most of his music.

KLOPFENSTEIN René
(Lausanne, 15.08.1927 - on the plane, 18.12.1984). He began playing the piano in Aigle and wrote his first compositions at the age of twelve. In Basel, he obtained a degree in philosophy in 1950, then studied orchestral conducting in Strasbourg with Igor Markewitch. He was Igor Markewitch's secretary from 1952 to 1954. In 1955 he became general secretary of the Schola Cantorum in Paris. He worked for radio and the press, and in 1968 he returned to Clarens to become artistic director of the Montreux Music Festival, where he brought an innovative spirit. He went on to conduct orchestras all over the world.

MERMOUD Robert
(Eclagnens, VD, 13.10.1912 - 2008). Instituteur, il dirige sa première chorale. Il passe le brevet de maître de chant et lance plusieurs chœurs (Yverdon, Montreux, Chailly-sur-Clarens, etc).Il est diplômé chef d'orchestre du Conservatoire de Bâle. Il seconde Carlo Hemmerling pour la Fête des Vignerons de 1955. Le théâtre du Jorat lui donne l'occasion d'exercer la plénitude de ses moyens de directeur de chœurs, chef d'orchestre et compositeur.

We will propose a shipping option to all buyers.
If desired, the Buyer can collect it in person or arrange for collection with a trusted party.
All Items, manuscripts, and letters are subject to an Export License from the UK. We will request the License on behalf of the client. The cost for this service is £20.
Delivery and Storage
1. If the item is delivered within the UK, 20% VAT applies to postage. All sales outside of the UK are exempt from VAT.
All sales within the UK for all lots imported outside the UK for sale and placed under the Temporary Admission regime will be subject to import VAT payable at 5% on the hammer price. VAT at 20% will be added to the buyer’s premium. All items shipped outside the UK will be exempt from VAT charges.
2. Where needed, the Auctioneers will provide complete customs declarations for the Hammer Price, along with the Purchaser's premium. The Purchaser is responsible for any customs charges imposed by the importing country.
3. A fee will be charged for the packing of deliveries, which (subject to VAT at 20% only for UK clients)
4. An insurance charge of 2% (plus VAT for items delivered within the UK) will be applied to all invoices for packages sent from our offices.
5 Items that remain uncollected may be relocated to storage, and their release will only be initiated upon settlement of the corresponding storage expenses. Should the accumulated storage charges reach a threshold of 50% of the initial Hammer Price paid, or if three months pass from the transfer date, the following actions may be taken at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to re-sell any or all the stored lots without prior notification and in the manner we choose. The proceeds obtained from such re-sale will then be allocated to offset the incurred storage costs. If there is a surplus amount after settling the costs, the Buyer can request the remaining balance. However, it's important to note that the Buyer will remain responsible for covering any shortfall that may arise. This policy ensures the efficient management of stored items and aids in recovering storage-related expenses while upholding transparency and fairness in our proceedings.
6 Upon your request, we will facilitate the delivery of the purchased Lots, contingent upon the payment of a mutually agreed-upon fee. While Lots in transit are not automatically insured, we can certainly arrange insurance if you, as the Buyer, provide a written request for such coverage. The delivery process will be executed by the terms established with you, the Buyer. This service will be available exclusively during our working days and hours immediately following the sale unless we communicate any alternative arrangements. This approach ensures that your purchased items are delivered securely and in line with your preferences, allowing for insurance coverage if desired.
