[MUSIC AUTOGRAPHS] - FERRUCCIO BUSONI (1866–1924) - Autograph letter signed to Mr Struck - FERRUCCIO BUSONI (1866–1924) - Autograph letter signed to Mr Struck, written on the eve of his departure and expressing the hope of a closer friendship. 3 January 1915. Autograph letter signed (“Ferruccio Busoni”), in German, to Mr Struck. 3 January 1915. One page, manuscript in ink. A cordial personal letter written by Busoni on the day of his departure, thanking Struck for a letter which had reached him as a welcome farewell greeting. Busoni explains that he must leave that very day and regrets that, on the previous afternoon, friends and visitors had been incorrectly informed of his whereabouts and were therefore unable to see him. He then expresses the hope that, on his return, he may count Struck among his closer circle of friends, lending the brief letter a particularly warm and personal character. He closes with cordial New Year wishes: “Alle guten Wünsche!” (“All good wishes!”) An attractive personal letter during the First World War, notable for its warm and direct tone and, in particular, for Busoni’s explicit invitation to a closer friendship. Condition: One manuscript page, with original folds and minor age wear; boldly signed in full.
