[MUSIC AUTOGRAPHS] - FERRUCCIO BUSONI (1866–1924) - Signed and inscribed photographic portrait - FERRUCCIO BUSONI (1866–1924) - Signed and inscribed photographic portrait, with a substantial presentation inscription to his friend Robert Buckert. Hof, 1911. Original photographic portrait by J. v. Dühren, Berlin, signed and inscribed on the verso to Robert Buckert. Hof, 1911. A fine original photographic portrait of Busoni, showing the composer and pianist seated in formal dress. On the verso, Busoni has written a substantial presentation inscription in German to his friend Robert Buckert, signed in full “Ferruccio Busoni” and dated Hof, 1911. The dedication begins: “Meinem lieben alten guten … Freunde Robert Buckert” (“To my dear old good … friend Robert Buckert”) and commemorates their meeting in Hof, referring affectionately to shared memories and presenting the photograph as a personal token of friendship. Particularly appealing for the combination of an evocative period portrait with a lengthy autograph inscription, the photograph documents a personal relationship within Busoni’s circle and is considerably more intimate than a conventionally signed publicity portrait. Condition: Original mounted photograph by J. v. Dühren, Berlin. Some fading to the inscription and light age wear, but the signature remains clear and the portrait itself is well preserved.
