[VARIOUS AUTOGRAPHS, LETTERS, & DOCUMENTS] - P. G. WODEHOUSE (1881–1975) - Autograph Letter Signed and Signed Photograph, 1964 - P. G. WODEHOUSE (1881–1975) Autograph Letter Signed and Signed Photograph, 1964 Autograph letter signed “P. G. Wodehouse”, dated 8 February 1964, written in blue ink on a single sheet of Wodehouse’s headed stationery, “P. G. Wodehouse, Remsenburg, New York”, and addressed to “Signor Pieraccini”. Wodehouse thanks Rolando Pieraccini for his letter and is delighted that he has enjoyed his books, before turning to the novel he is about to complete: “I am within three pages of the end of my new one and expect to finish it tomorrow. It is a Blandings Castle story about Lord Emsworth and his pig and has come out very well. My only trouble is that I cannot think of a title for it!”. Signed at foot “P. G. Wodehouse”. Together with an original black-and-white portrait photograph of Wodehouse in profile, wearing spectacles and smoking a pipe, inscribed beneath the image “With best wishes” and signed “P. G. Wodehouse”. An appealing literary document offering a vivid glimpse of Wodehouse at work, most likely on what would become Galahad at Blandings. This novel first appeared in the United States later that year as The Brinkmanship of Galahad Threepwood. Written when Wodehouse was only three pages from completing the novel, the letter is particularly evocative in recording that he had yet to find a title for it. Two items: one autograph letter signed and one signed photograph.
